The 3 Hebrew boys Dan 3
Daniel in the lion’s den. Dan 6
Brothers and sisters, it would be a mistake for anyone to assume that a person who is following the word of God can be defeated by the antagonisms of this world.
Whenever you are down in the game of life, don’t leave until the game is over!
Many people now find themselves in the fourth quarter of life and trailing by three touchdowns. In football and in life, the game is not over until the time runs out. Don’t leave until the game is over.
The biblical record is full of instances that show that it’s unwise to leave before the game is over because God seems to get in a believer’s life in the fourth quarter.
Joseph`s life was destined for greatness! He saw himself doing something great for God. But his dream met head-on with that of his brothers who were equally determined to stop him. They threw him in a pit. It appeared that it was over, his brothers left him there thinking that his game was over. But God raised him from the pit and placed him in the palaces of Egypt. It just proves that a just man falleth seven-time but riseth up again. Don’t leave until the game is over!
Samson was a strong man who was brought down, chained, and blinded. As he stood in chains without strength or sight it appeared that it was over, until we look at the rest of the story! He repented for his sins and slew thousands of Philistines in his last and final act!
Job was a pitiful sight. Once strong, wealthy, and healthy he was broken to a poor man with ill health. Job`s story looked to be one of defeat until we see the rest of the story! He was blessed more after his trial than he had been before! All of these went to prove that we should never count a saint of God out just because they are down! Stick around! Wait for the rest of the story! Remember a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:
Over 5,000 people found out that there is a blessing in waiting to get the rest of the story! When it looked like there was nothing to eat, some may have left to go home. They should have stuck around they would have enjoyed a feast!
When the winds were blowing mightily the disciples thought their ship would sink, some believed it was all over! But the good part was not in the storm, it was in the rest of the story! Jesus rose to rebuke the wind saying peace be still!
I don`t know about you but I`m glad to know that we serve a God that can help us to come back even in the fourth quarter of life when we have failed miserably and fallen behind.
We serve a God who can take:
-Defeat and turn it into victory; failure and turn it into success
-Misfortune and turn it into a good fortune; Tragedy and turn it into an opportunity
-Blunders and turn them into wonders; Doubts and wipe them out!
At Calvary, the world thought the Savior was out, but they learned what we now know when it comes to people of God, don’t leave until the game is over!
They buried Him, thinking it was over!
But Early Sunday morning He arose!
A good man falleth seven times but riseth up again.
